Help make a difference for children with dyslexia across Oregon!
We are currently seeking new Board Members who are excited to use their talents to support our mission! We are currently looking for:
- Kids Coordinator – Bring your creativity and organizational skills to plan get togethers for kids so they don’t feel alone.
- Marketing & Communications – Help us expand our reach, refine our messaging, and share content that inspires action. Familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, Eventbrite and Social Media.
Ideal candidates:
- Are enthusiastic about literacy and educational equity
- Enjoy teamwork and collaboration
- Can commit to attending regular board meetings and contributing to projects or committees
Expectations of Board Members
- Commit to a two-year term with the opportunity to renew
- Prepare for and attend board meetings (remote participation) and occasional special meetings or events (in-person)
- Professionally represent Decoding Dyslexia Oregon to the public
- Assist with board recruitment to further our mission
- Participate in at least one committee or engage in a special project
- Actively support the organization’s fundraising efforts, including but not limited to: planning/participating in fundraising events, cultivating new donors and/or sponsors
- Maintain professional conduct, including preserving the confidentiality of business matters discussed in board and committee meetings
- We are committed to increasing the diversity of our board leadership to reflect all of Oregon’s residents, including those that are typically underrepresented.
